Organized by the International Education College (IEC), the opening session of the “AI Empowerment · Bridging China and the Globe” Sino-Foreign Students Cross-Cultural AI Science & Technology Innovation Camp was held at Friendship Villa on July 9, 2026. The event featured a warm and lively atmosphere, as Deputy Party Secretary Yin Dawei delivered an opening address to some 40 domestic and overseas students ready to start their AI-focused innovation practice. In her opening remarks, she pointed out that the summer camp acts as a valuable channel linking technical study with multicultural exchange. She called on all participants to rely on joint practical projects to polish their comprehensive capabilities and broaden their international mindsets in multicultural groups.

Centered on the framework of cross-cultural communication, interdisciplinary AI application and global industrial research, the seven-day camp is designed to boost Chinese students’ global competence and international students’ understanding of China. The opening day carried the theme “Ice-breaking Integration”. The morning covered camp regulation briefings, cross-cultural theory studies and team formation, while the afternoon included cultural interactive games and beginners’ guides to mainstream iFLYTEK AI tools.

Throughout the whole camp, participants would visit iFLYTEK Co., Ltd. to experience its self-developed intelligent speech, multilingual translation, virtual anchor and Spark large model products on site. They would also receive professional training on AI agent construction from technical specialists of Seentao Technology Co., Ltd., who would share systematic knowledge covering the evolution and industrial application of artificial intelligence. All subsequent field research, collaborative creation and project refinement would revolve around AI practice.

Mixed Chinese and foreign student teams would explore cross-regional AI industries and produce diversified cross-cultural research reports and digital innovative works. Through joint creation, participants would gain in-depth insights into the development landscape of China’s AI sector, strengthen their awareness of cross-regional collaboration and boost their comprehensive global digital literacy. This seven-day immersive program would bring together domestic and overseas learners for integrated technological and cultural learning. More than just producing cross-cultural research papers and digital creations, it would create opportunities for young learners from different backgrounds to build genuine mutual understanding and view China’s AI industry from diverse cultural perspectives.

Looking ahead, IEC will keep launching similar integrated practice activities focused on artificial intelligence and cross-cultural interaction, creating a long-term exchange space to cultivate innovative tech talents with sound cross-cultural awareness and global vision.
