Recently, international students gathered in F708 for an informative session on Dormitory Safety and Living, hosted by the Life Department of the International Student Union.

The event aimed to raise awareness of responsible dormitory living, community standards, and safety practices in on-campus dormitories.

The session began with a detailed explanation of apartment regulations. Staff from the Apartment Office also explained relevant dormitory management systems and put forward clear requirements for daily dorm management. Participants were reminded to abide by the regulations, keep tidy, and help maintain a harmonious living environment.

A key emphasis was placed on fire safety and the responsible use of electrical appliances. Special reminders were given about smoking and open flames to prevent fire risks in Friendship Villa.

The discussion then focused on good neighborly etiquette. Students were encouraged to minimize noise, respect shared spaces, and foster positive relationships with their roommates and neighbors, reinforcing the importance of building a supportive and respectful community.

Finally, the session covered basic emergency safety knowledge. Participants were informed of evacuation routes and appropriate responses to emergencies.

Following up on this education session, the Student Administration Office and the Apartment Office jointly carried out a dormitory hygiene and safety inspection. Ms. Bai Yun, head of the Apartment Office, put forward clear requirements for inspection standards. The joint inspection focused on hygiene conditions, item placement, electrical safety, and fire prevention, turning safety education into practical action.

Overall, the session was engaging and educational, equipping students with the knowledge and responsibility to maintain a safe, respectful, and well-organized living environment. The Life Department played a positive role in serving students and supporting campus dormitory management. It also helped build a positive community experience.
