Jerry Adrian, a distinguished Sri Lankan graduate from Shenyang Aerospace University (SAU), has grown from an aviation enthusiast into a key bridge linking China and Sri Lanka in aviation, trade and cultural exchanges.

Driven by his passion for flight, Jerry came to SAU in 2008 to deepen his aircraft manufacturing studies after receiving pilot training in Russia. He was deeply impressed by the sincerity of local people and witnessed dramatic changes around the campus. Back then, the university had very few overseas students; today, it hosts over 800 international learners, marking SAU’s booming international education.

After graduation, Jerry built a solid aviation career in Shenyang. He once served as deputy general manager of an aviation parts manufacturer cooperating with Airbus and Boeing, and later managed a Sino-Italian aircraft factory, introducing foreign trainer jet production lines to China and promoting Chinese aviation products globally. He credits Shenyang’s complete aviation industrial chain and abundant university talents for his career success.

Beyond aviation, Jerry devotes himself to bilateral trade. He founded an industrial firm and built a Sri Lankan industrial park in Yingkou Free Trade Zone, partnering with over 30 Sri Lankan enterprises. Appointed Secretary-General of the Sri Lanka-China Economic, Education and Culture Association and Vice President of the Middle East-Liaoning General Chamber of Commerce, he facilitates exports of Sri Lankan agricultural goods to China and introduces Chinese agricultural machinery to Sri Lanka.

“Shenyang is where my dream took off and my career soared,” Jerry said. He plans to launch global “China Halls” to showcase China’s products, technology and culture, and keep advancing exchanges between Liaoning and Belt and Road countries.
