On December 12, 2025, the Genxtra Science and Innovation Club of IEC organized a seminar at the Friendship Villa for IEC students. Held after the 4th Liaoning International Student Innovation Competition, the event aimed to enhance students’ competition preparedness and career planning abilities.

Prof. Guan Yunchong from the School of Computer Science delivered a keynote lecture, utilizing MATLAB and Python-based simulation tools, along with demonstration videos of real competition projects. He illustrated how AI can be applied to optimize innovation designs and resolve technical bottlenecks, and stressed the significance of ambition in academic pursuits, and offered targeted career planning advice. Additionally, he used the video materials to guide students on competition preparation, emphasizing practical application research, flaw identification in prototype designs, and how to enhance the market value of innovations.

Veteran students who participated in previous competitions also joined the seminar, sharing practical insights into competition preparation—such as project proposal polishing, on-site defense skills, and lessons from technical adjustments. Their first-hand experience provided valuable references for peers, further inspiring students’ innovation enthusiasm and strengthening their competitive awareness.

Looking ahead, IEC will continue to support such innovative activities organized by student clubs, striving to build a platform for international students to enhance their professional skills and competitive edge, laying a solid foundation for their academic and career development.
