On January 13, 2026, as a core practical session of the “Intelligent BMW·Cross-Integration Empowerment” Sino-Foreign Students’ Technological Innovation and Practice Camp, Chinese and foreign students from the International Education College(IEC) visited BMW Brilliance Automotive (BBA) Shenyang Tiexi Production Base. Through immersive research and study, they built a bridge between theory and practice, deepening their cross-cultural awareness and understanding of technological innovation.

At the start of the activity, students systematically learned about the development history of BBA’s Sino-German joint venture, its localized layout of “Home in China”, and the core connotation of the BMW iFACTORY production strategy via a thematic video viewing system. Subsequently, under the guidance of corporate mentors, they went deep into the final assembly workshop and body shop, observing the entire intelligent production process of BMW’s mass-produced models up close. They intuitively experienced the highly automated production and precision quality control system, gained detailed insights into new models, core technological highlights, and environmental innovation concepts, and immersed themselves in the efficient model of Sino-German technological collaboration and the practical achievements of intelligent manufacturing.

This research and study not only provided Chinese and foreign students with a practical window into face high-end manufacturing, but also helped Chinese students temper their global competence and international students deepen their understanding of China’s science and technology. In the real production scenario, students perceived the development logic of “science and technology know no borders”, and reached a consensus on promoting technological win-win through cross-cultural mutual learning. It laid a solid foundation for the subsequent creation of cross-cultural cases, transformation of technological achievements, and preparation for the cross-cultural competence competition, fully demonstrating the educational characteristics of the practice camp of “theory + practice + cross-cultural collaboration”.
