On September 12th, IEC celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival by hosting a fair, leading international students in making mooncakes, crafting paper lanterns, and rubbing to commemorate the occasion.
On this festive day, the International Education College organized a series of activities to promote cultural exchange and enhance the sense of belonging among international students. The event began with a demonstration on how to make traditional mooncakes. With the guidance of experienced teachers, the students learned the techniques of kneading dough, making fillings, and shaping the mooncakes. They eagerly participated in the process, showcasing their creativity and enthusiasm.
Following the mooncake making session, the students gathered to create beautiful paper lanterns. Under the guidance of teachers, they carefully cut and folded colorful paper into various shapes and designs. The atmosphere was filled with laughter and excitement as the students showcased their artistic talents and exchanged ideas with each other.
The intangible cultural heritage rubbing experience has become a highly popular activity. Under the guidance of their teachers, students personally engage in this ancient Chinese traditional craft. They observe how images come to life on paper through processes such as inking, paper placement, pressing, and coloring. International students have fully immersed themselves in the charm of traditional Chinese culture through this hands-on experience.
The celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival not only allowed international students to experience Chinese traditions, but also provided an opportunity for cultural exchange and friendship building. Through these activities, the students gained a deeper understanding of Chinese culture and developed a sense of unity within the university community.
The International Education College of Shenyang Aerospace University will continue to organize such events in the future, aiming to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for international students and promote cross-cultural understanding.
