International students from IEC displayed their growing enthusiasm for Shenyang’s industrial culture during their visit to the China Industrial Museum this May. On August 24, IEC students served as museum guides, presenting various exhibits in Chinese, English, and their native languages. This hands-on experience allowed them to forge a deeper connection with Shenyang’s rich industrial heritage, as the city is known as a traditional industrial heartland of China.

IEC students led tours through the Machine Tool Hall, Automobile Hall, and other related areas. With engaging introductions, they highlighted China's industrial history—from early 20th-century manufacturing to the 5G numerical control machine tools driving the nation’s economy today.

In the Machine Tool Hall, a student from Nigeria explained the function and significance of an early lathe produced after the founding of New China, both in Chinese and English. This helped bridge cultural gaps and made the history accessible to both domestic and international visitors. Additionally, other students used the languages of Nigeria, Tanzania and Bangladesh to describe the exhibits. Visitors were impressed by the IEC students’ fluent Chinese and their multilingual presentations, which emphasized Shenyang’s industrial culture.
