On May 26th, IEC organized a traditional handmade shadow puppet experience activity called "Moon Shadow Dance, Light and Fire," inviting Mr. Gu Pengfei, the sixth generation inheritor of Gu's shadow in Dongling, who is an intangible cultural heritage of Shenyang, to introduce the shadow and perform a shadow play for everyone to experience.
Mr. Gu first introduced the history of donkey shadow puppets' development, traditional shadow puppet-making techniques and the current development of shadow skills.
In the subsequent performance session, Mr Gu Pengfei personally performed a piece of the new" Wu Song Fighting Tiger," in which the students were very excited and deeply impressed by Mr Gu's exquisite skills.
In the practical session, all of the students actively participated and experienced the difficulty of the shadow play operation and once again expressed their admiration for Mr. Gu. When the students encountered problems in the operation process, Mr. Gu also pointed them out and gave guidance in time
At the end, Mr. Gu took a group photo with the students and hoped that they would have the opportunity to learn more about Intangible Cultural Heritage and love it.
Through this activity, many students were very interested in shadow puppet shows and expressed their love for traditional Chinese culture.
