On 23rd February, the meeting between IEC management and International Students Representatives (ISR) was held in Friendship Villa. Dean Richard Chen shared the updates of the current epidemic situation and mentioned that it is getting better gradually. According to the statistics by the Chinese government on 21st February, the spread of the epidemic has been initially controlled, the number of newly confirmed and suspected cases have decreased and the prevention along with the control has achieved periodical success.
The management also invited ISR to give feedback on the students’ living situation and other important issues so far.
The first one is about the commodity supply. The price, quantity and quality were discussed with the supplier on the spot. The supplier agreed to check the market for the best price on condition that the quality will not go down.
ISR expressed the students’ discomfort with the apartment entry-exit rules and were given an explanation as to why these rules are to be obeyed for the safety of everybody. “Life is always much more important than convenience during this hard time”, said Richard Chen.
He also expressed his gratitude to all the students on campus for their cooperation throughout this month-long campus closure and emphasized that we are at the peak of the situation. It is significant that we join hands and keep on fighting until success comes.
All the students showed their understanding and expressed their support towards the management. Everyone is filled with confidence that the whole situation will be better and better.
