On the 8th of November, IEC holds Inauguration & Scholarship Ceremony in the library. Vice president of SAU, representative from immigration office, respective professors of different colleges and dean and staff of IEC with new students and awardees attended the ceremony. Vice President Tong Gang delivered his valuable speech to all the freshmen and awardees, he distributed SAU badge to some new students and announced the commencement of the new students.
The welcome speech from vice president of Shenyang aerospace University and appreciation speech from president of IEC student union was very enthusiastic. The President of International Student Union deliver his speech towards the new students and suggested freshers to work on their personal development along with their academic development. The representative from new students also delivered his speech and expressed his wish towards SAU on behalf of the rest 300 new students.
During the meeting, some of students get their honors of scholarship. There were 6 categories of scholarship for the students who were outstanding in their respective field. Around 150 students awarded scholarship out of 1500.
Ms. Gao Bo from the immigration office was invited to the ceremony, and she explained the do's and don'ts which was very informative to the new students as well as to old ones. How to enjoy life in China by following simple rules and what are the consequences for breaking the law.
At the end of the event Richard Chen, Dean of IEC gave a conclusive speech to motivate the new students and congratulated the outstanding students.
