To dive into deep cultural Summer camp students were experienced Chinese calligraphy, painting, and paper-cutting activities. IEC organized different cultural events to enrich their extracurricular life for summer camp students who come from Russian, French, Saudi Arabia and Iran. Activates were designed by experts from Shenyang Aerospace University in order to let summer camp students feel the charm of the heritage of Chinese Arts and Culture along with the traditional touch.
In the painting and calligraphy class, Mr. Lin briefly introduced the history and evolution of Chinese calligraphy and Chinese painting to the students with PPT and some different presentation materials. They were attracted by the rich and interesting connotation of Chinese calligraphy and painting. Then, teacher Mrs. Lin personally picked up ink, drip ink, in the students' bursts of exclamations, a simple and charming national treasure of the panda popped up onto the paper. International students are also taught holding the brush and learned to write and draw on paper. Under Lin's guidance, the students mastered some basic skills of practicing calligraphy and understood the characteristics of Chinese painting.
In the paper cutting class, the teacher explained the development history and function of Chinese paper cutting, especially the rich content contained in paper cutting including some traditional aspects such as auspicious and evil patterns. On the basis of a brief introduction to paper cutting, the teacher explained the wishing word, window pattern and small animal cutting method. International students were showing great interest in paper cutting and were eager to have a try. They Shared the joy of paper cutting and felt the traditional Chinese "Art on the Fingertips".
