As part of SAUs commitment to providing international students with internship opportunities, IEC has cooperated with Cooper Standard, a well reputed global supplier of systems and components for the Automotive Industry. Products produced by cooper Standard include rubber and plastic seals, brake lines and fluid transfer hoses.
On Thursday 4th July 2019, representatives from cooper standard came to SAU to interview a select number of students for a summer internship position. These students were selected by first going through an application and review process, after which they were found to be suitable to proceed for the interview.
The 8 students who were interviewed include Noel Chanda, Mamun Khan and Ali Abdullahi Hashi who are 4th Year 1st semester students studying Mechatronics Engineering and Mukhtar Surajo, Tukur Sadiq Hambali, Tiwalolu Odesanya, Lano Kuyama and Martin Ndenya who are 4th Year 1st semester Aeronautical Engineering students. After a successful interview process, they will be placed in different departments within the company such as engineering and quality control.
According to the performance of the students during their internship period, Cooper Standard will hire candidates as trainees in 2020 who will then be further cultivated as Engineers
