Recently, the Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education issued the List of Specialties that have passed the Engineering Education Accreditation. Automation, Computer science and technology in SAU passed the accreditation. The accreditation is also recognized by Washington Accord. The validity period is 6 years (January 2019 to December 2024). This is the first time that our major has passed the national engineering education professional certification. It is a new breakthrough in university education and teaching, and opens up a new chapter for the internationalization of engineering education.
SAU attaches great importance to the accreditation of the two majors. College of Computer Science and College of Automation have earnestly implemented the educational and teaching concept of "student-centered, achievement-oriented and continuous improvement". A lot of adjustments and standardization have been made to the personnel training program, curriculum system and teaching materials.
The two majors formally submitted their applications in September 2017, submitted their self-assessment reports in July 2018, and completed the inspection work of the expert group in October 2018.
SAU will take this accreditation as an opportunity to further strengthen the organization and implementation of professional accreditation, give full play to the leading and exemplary role of the passed major, lay a more solid foundation for the development of undergraduate teaching audit and evaluation, and promote the construction of high-level research and application-oriented universities with distinctive characteristics.
