SAU enhances collaboration with University of Management and Economics

Prof. Sun Xiaoping, President of SAU on January 8, 2019 received the delegation of  University of Management and Economics (UME) from Cambodia and held talks with Prof. Tep Khunnal, UME Board of Director and Prof. Tun Pheakdey, UME President.

Prof. Wang Qi, Vice President of SAU also attended the meeting and had discussions on concrete terms of collaboration fields.
In a cordial and friendly atmosphere, two sides recalled UME’s visit in 2012 when the partnership and exchange initiated. “We are delighted to see our old friends and our friendship and collaboration will be enhanced to new heights under ‘belt and road’ initiative”, said Sun.

Tep Khunnal expressed his gratitude for Sun’s welcoming words and his attitude to “belt and road” initiative. He was impressed by China’s development and tremendous changes during recent years.
Two sides agreed to make joint efforts to push for continuous exchange and collaboration in the new era and bring more benefits to students and staff of the two sides.

Wang exchanged ideas with UME delegates on scientific research collaboration, student program, staff exchange, etc. “SAU has experiences and resources in advanced manufacturing, IT and aviation which can support UME for research  and developmet in these areas”, said Wang. 
In the past years, more than 10 students who joined joint program between SAU and UME had graduated and now are working in governmental organizations, top universities as well as famous joint venture enterprises in Cambodia.
A memorandum of understanding was signed to push forward the relationship and provide direction for common cooperation.

After meeting, UME delegation visited SAU library and general aviation institute to see hi-tech facilities, electric plane development as well as advanced management mechanism.
