2016 IEC Teaching Seminar held

On July 16, 2016, International Education College held 2016 Teaching Seminar. More than fifty academics attended the seminar and discussed about international education.

Henry Shi, Party Secretary of IEC gave the work report of year 2016 on behalf of International Education College. Representatives of different colleges made speech about teaching work, professional improvement, teaching quality and teaching experiences, providing a great deal of inspiring thoughts and ideas to colleagues.

Professor Wang Qi, Vice President of SAU summarized the seminar. He encouraged academics to enhance teaching skills and quality as well as apply more softwares during the teaching procedure such as SPSS and SAP systems. He also indicated that more reference books shall be provided for international students. Secondly, he suggested academics to utilize Chinese characteristics during lectures, and pay attention to the cultivation of students' academic accomplishment. Lastly, he shared his experiences during his visit to Australian universities, such as optimization of internationalization and development project. At the end of his speech, he highlighted our goal- to fully improve the teaching quality of international students.

Mohamed Mohamed Elfatih Ali, an international student representative from Sudan shared his expectations for international classes with all academics in the seminar.

The last agenda of this seminar was group discussion. After discussion, each group selected one representative to conclude their discussions. They made a lot of practical suggestions, such as to improve the students’ Chinese proficiency and provide more opportunities for international students, reinforce the discpline of classrooms and examinations, and expressed their expectations to have more opportunities like this seminar to exchange the experience.
