Chairman WANG Wei met with president of Kazan State Techinical University

WANG Wei, Chairman of SAU and WANG Qi, vice presiden of SAU held talks with Albert Gilmutdinov, President of Kazan State Techinical University and Giliazov Marsel, Representative of the Russian federation representative office on April 25, Beijing.

 

Chairman WANG welcomed the visit of President Albert Gilmutdinov and introduced the history, teaching management and preofessional settings of our school. Chairman WANG said that the two Universities have a great basic of cooperation, he hoped that the two sides can promote mutual communication and carry out teaching and research cooperation in the future.President Albert Gilmutdinov expressed his thanks for the warm welcome of Chairman Wang Wei and described in detail the overall situation of the technological researching universities in Kazan. He hoped that in the future, both parties should focus on engaging deeply cooperation in student joint training and joint application of Sino-Russian scientific and technological cooperation projects. They also exchanged their opinions during the meeting, in co-cultivation of students and young professors, as well as the construction of Confucius Institute.

Introduction to Kazan State Technological University: KNRTU is an innovational scientific educational complex. The University comprises 15 academic and research institutes; runs over 100 Specialist, Bachelor’s, Master’s Degree and Ph.D. programs; enrolls over 27,000 undergraduate and graduate students, 900 Ph.D. and 100 Post-Doc students from Russia and other countries; employs over 300 Full Professors, Doctors of Science and 800 Associate Professors, Ph.D.s; raises the budget of 1.4 billion rubles. The University derived from Kazan United industrial college opened in 1897. In 1919, it was transformed to Kazan Polytechnical Institute and in 1930 Kazan Chemical-Technological Institute (KCTI named after S.M. Kirov) was created on the basis of Polytechnical Institute and Chemical Faculty of Kazan State University. In 1992, KCTI was renamed to Kazan State Technological University (KSTU). In 2010, the University acquired the status of national research institute and was given its present name.
