IEC defends their title as “Champions”
On 5 June, 2014 as football teams of International Education College (IEC) and Mechanical Engineering College (MEC) team prepared to battle for the SAU annual soccer championship 2014, the supporters showed up in a good number to support their teams.

Both finalists looked comfortable when the match started, but none of them were able to create good chances and open the scoring. With few minutes remains to play, the defending champion untangled a dreadlock with Ariyo Temitayo Abiodun’s superb strike.
IEC team made a few good chances in first half of the game but the MEC team defended quite beautifully. They had a few good counter attacks as well but the finishing was really poor. So, it all ended 0-0 at half-time.

In the second half, IEC continued to attack furiously, yet rejected by the MEC team defenders. The time was running out and the environment in the stadium got intense. Well, just a few minutes remaining, on the referee’s watch; the glorious moment had arrived for the defending champions, finally. Ariyo brings the ball home with an electrifying shot to the top corner. The score sheet presented a score of 1-0, which is good enough to defend the title.
