Elective Chinese course-tea ceremony

A tea ceremony demonstration was provided for international students by International Education College on May 8, 2014. The demonstrator gave a brief introduction to tea ceremony and its origin.

“A tea ceremony is a cultural activity involving the ceremonial preparation and presentation of tea. A refined tea ceremony is meant to demonstrate respect through grace and proper etiquette”, said the demonstrator.

She demonstrated a formal entrance and ceremonial cleansing of the utensils before preparing and serving bowls of tea.

Attendees got an up close view of the tea ceremony and tasted traditional tea.
