Elective Chinese course-Chinese knotting

International Education College organized a culture experience course for international students to make Chinese knotting on 17 April, 2014.

The instructor gave a brief introduction to Chinese knotting and its origin. “It is a decorative handicraft art that began in the Tang and Song Dynasty in China, and popular all around the world now,”said the instructor, “and culturally it symbolizes good luck and prosperity and is expected to ward off evil spirits.”

Nearly 20 international students from Indonesia, Cameroon, Namibia, Korea, Pakistan, Somalia joined in making Chinese knotting.
