Over the past two weekends, international students at SAU have taken part in the first ever Shenyang Aerospace University Cricket Championship.

The tournament, organised by the SAU Cricket Association, was played in an eight-a-side round-robin format and featured five teams. Each team was made up of six Chinese players and two international players.

The winning team, captained by Lyu Chunlei, featured Tanzir from Bangladesh (3rd from right) and Shehroz from Pakistan (5th from left).

Over the course of ten matches, nearly 50 players took part, and there were several very close games, one of which ended in a tie.

Three players received special awards for their outstanding performances during the tournament. Pictured, left-right, Liu Yanhui, Arafat (Bangladesh) and Xu Peng.

The participation of so many experienced and talented international students in the tournament was a huge boost for the Chinese players, and bodes well for the future of cricket in Shenyang.
