Respected teachers, beloved classmates, dear friends,
Good afternoon!
Now, China is the world’s largest economy. There are numerous foreigners who come to China. They come to China with various purposes-business, employment, study and vacation. The number of international students who come to China is getting larger and larger.
Today, my classmates and I gather here to celebrate the success of our graduation after one year of studying Chinese. Our improvement in Chinese is very obvious. In addition, we have had numerous unforgettable experiences.
The first time arriving in China, our Chinese was so poor. Although we all look like Chinese in appearance, it is very difficult for us to communicate in Chinese. When we went to shop, but have no idea how to bargain. When we got lost, yet we did not know how to ask for direction. Listening to Chinese people talking was also very difficult for us to understand.
Aside from our difficulty in speaking Chinese, there were also custom differences. For instance, the food of Northeastern China is very different from the food of my home country, Indonesia. Indonesian food is much more similar to the food of Southern China. Therefore, we need time for adjustment. And now, we have already been very used to it. Actually, we find that the food of Northeastern China is nothing but delicious. From all of which, my classmates and I are very fond of Guo Bao Rou (Pork or Chicken Meat with red sweet sauce). We also find that the restaurant on the first floor of Friendship Villa is very delightful.
Most of us found that Chinese was very challenging when we started studying at Shenyang Aerospace University. It is hard to imagine how to write Chinese characters because they are extremely different from Arabian characters. Finally, with the patience of our beloved teachers, we gradually make progress together. Now, our listening, speaking, and reading are progressing significantly.
During our studying year, our teachers spent a lot of time helping us. They are uncomplainingly teaching us and encouraging us. Ms. Zhang Caixia, Ms. Pan Yan, Mr. Xu Danwei, Ms. Xu Shi, Ms. Zhou, Ms. Li and Ms. Yin, we are thankful, thankful for your hard work, thankful for your patience, thankful for your time, helping us learn Chinese. Thank you.
We hope that when we return to our home country, we still continue studying Chinese. Although when we go back to our country, some of us will start to work, while others will go to college, yet I hope we are going to remain learning Chinese. The most important thing is that we will remember the hard work and good education which our teachers have dedicatedly given to us.
I am here representing the graduating international students of Shenyang Aerospace University. Thanks greatly to the College of International Education. Thanks to our Dean, Mr. Chen. Because of this university, because of all of you, we have a new home right here in China, our new family. We are going to bring what we have attained here returning to our country. We wish China and our home country maintain friendly relationship and the people in both countries become good friends.
We are the students of this university in its 60th anniversary. We hope that when it is time for our university to celebrate its centennial anniversary, we can bring success to our beloved university.
Thank you!
