On July 14th, 2012, a meeting was held to start off the Part-time Mentors program at the College of International Education SAU.

The meeting was presided over by Ms Pearl Liu, Deputy Dean of the College of International Education. In the meeting, mentors’ responsibilities were confirmed as follows:
1. The mentor shall care about international students’ mental wellbeing and help them to set up correct values and views of world, so that students can enhance their knowledge, capacity and other qualities.
2. Basing on individual difference of international students, the mentor shall provide guidance on enrollment, major choosing and individual learning plan making.
3. The mentor shall have frequent contact with students, and meet students on regular basis.
The program was initially carried out based on the various academic basis and backgrounds of international students. About 20 excellent teachers have been selected as international students’ part time mentors to help them quickly accustom to SAU’s campus life.
