On May 28th, 2012, Mr. Jeffrey Addison Jupp, former Chief Engineer of Airbus visited SAU, and gave an outstanding lecture to students and teachers of SAU and experts from the 601 Research Institute at the International Report Hall of the university. 

Prior to the lecture, Professor Li Haifeng, Vice President of SAU met with Mr. Jeffrey Addison Jupp and had a cordial talk with him.

The lecture started at 9:00am and was presided over by Professor Li Haifeng. At the beginning of the lecture, Mr. Jupp gave a vivid introduction to the development of airbus. He also shared his views on the safety issues of aircraft design, and told a story about  the Paris 2000 Crash investigation of Concorde .

The discussion part “Design for Manufacturability and cost” was passionate. Many students took the rare opportunity and put forward their questions to Mr. Jupp.

More profound theory concerning aerodynamics was introduced by Mr. Jupp in the afternoon, which made all the audiences benefit a lot.  

The lecture ended with thunder like applause. The day was short with Mr. Jupp’s lecture, everyone was expecting the next time of his come though.
