"We want to attract more students from all over the world by teaching in English," said Charles Lv, who works in the Shenyang -based university’s office for international students’ admission.
Giving courses in English for international students has been a good way for Chinese universities to attract more foreign students.
International students have joined job fairs since last year, and an International Students Career Planning Office has been set up to help students.
The university recruited over one hundred international students in 2011. The total number of international students has increased to 290 this year, accounting for a certain proportion of university's enrollment.

"My classmates and I have been a bit worried about how to land a good job, as we have to compete with Chinese students from the same major in Chinese, and sometimes we cannot express ourselves properly in Chinese," a final year student said. "Organized internships and trips to the companies help employers know us better."
Students also think that the conduction of English courses is an interesting move.
"It took me seven years learning in China to speak survival Chinese," a French student of SAU said. "And many of my classmates' Chinese is worse than mine, and they need language tutors in their first year here. It would be really helpful for us to understand China with courses provided in English."
SAU has started the admission of September, 2012. The bachelor and master degree programs are available in English medium and all the international students are welcome to study at SAU.
