The SAU Counseling Service designed to ease the transition for International students who are new to the country and facing the challenges of university life for the first time will be likely to open in the near future.
The SAU Wellbeing Counseling Service is offered by the SAU's Centre for Emotional Health Centre Clinic in conjunction with the University's Student Counseling Service.
As many as 50 per cent of all students experience stress, worry, or enjoy things less than they used to during their studies due to low mood. This course is designed to support students and give them the skills needed to successfully cope with the challenges ahead and enable them to succeed at University and in all parts of their life.
The service will open to International Students at SAU. Each week, students will go to the service and have lessons about key skills for staying emotionally healthy. Lessons will be conducted like giving practical examples of how other students learn to overcome problems with worry, stress, and low mood.
Simple homework assignments are recommended, and additional materials about managing sleep, communication and other skills are also available. The skills taught in the service include practical strategies that are known to help people master worry, stress, and low mood.
We hope the SAU Wellbeing Counseling Service will help people improve their confidence, and live a full and satisfying life.
