Seminar on Chinese Government Scholarship Opened in Fujian, China

In order to promote the international education and higher education cooperation and exchange in China, the Seminar on Chinese Government Scholarship hosted by China Scholarship was successfully held on April 6th, in Fuzhou City, China. Delegates from over 100 Chinese universities and different provincial Department of Education attended the seminar.

The purpose of this seminar is to further implement the "Plan for Studying in China" launched by the Chinese government in 2010. Chinese universities will try to attract more international students to study in China, in order to enhance the mutual understanding and cooperation in talents cultivation and scientific research.

During the seminar, delegates conducted in-depth group discussions and consultations on international students’ daily administration issues including dealing with campus emergencies

The main objective of the "Plan for Studying in China" is to make China the most popular destination for international education in Asia by the year of 2020. Chinese higher education institutions are encouraged to provide high quality education programs and good services to international students. By 2020, the number of international students studying in mainland China is expected to reach 500,000.
