International Students Celebrated the Chinese New Year at SAU

On January 22nd 2012, international students celebrated the Chinese New Year with member staff of International Education College of SAU at Friendship Villa.

International students made their first ever try to make the Chinese dumplings, which was a lot of fun and excitement. The kitchen was full filled with laughter and happy atmosphere.

 

Mr. Richard Chen, Dean of International Education College joined the students at the scene. He was happy to see the students were enjoying so much at SAU and made one dumpling himself for his fellow students.

Later this New Year Eve afternoon, Professor Wang Wei, Chairman of University Board and Professor Chen Baodong, Vice-president of SAU, visited the international students at Friendship Villa, extending greetings to the people and celebrating with them Lunar New Year.

Professor Wang Wei and Professor Chen Baodong then joined the international to celebrate the Year of Dragon. The atmosphere went into a climax when villagers when small gifts were distributed by Professor Wang Wei.

"Fellow international students, today is the eve of Spring Festival, I wish you a happy New Year!" Prof. Wang Wei told the crowd. "I'm happy with the improvement of your studies and living here"

He added that the SAU attaches great importance to international education and will continue to strengthen the related favorable qualities.

Spring Festival is the most important festival in China and an occasion when all family members get together, just like Christmas in the West. This year Spring Festival falls on Monday.
