Mr Peter Durran from Uk is one of the most outstanding international lecturers of SAU. He looks like an uncle living nextdoor, but the most surprising thing is that he was a very experienced Aircraft Engineer and a former employee of South African Airways & British Airways.
Mr Durran is so fond of China that he always carries a backpack on which the Chinese national flag is embroiled. He had flown all over the world, but he was eventually conquered by the dynamic China and its hospitable and hard-working Chinese people.

He has devoted his career to the work of Aviation until he got retired, however, he is unable to lead a siren retired life without Aviation that he has been employed as one of the international lecturers of SAU till now. He has become one of the most popular lecturers because he is always ready to share the interesting stories with others. He gave real life examples about errors by pilots, flight crews and ground maintainers, and emphasized that most failures in aircraft are caused by series of faults and not by just one specific error, which have deeply forged into students’ minds.
For years, SAU has been carrying out its education with an emphasis on the characteristic of aeronautic and astronautic engineering. The quality of education was always laid with significant importance. Especially currently, with the international students’ body getting larger and larger and the international students’ education developing faster and faster, new force are being introduced to the teaching body.SAU is planning to employ more and more international aeronautical experts to work here.
