On 30 September 2010, H.E. Prof John Evans Atta Mills, President of the Republic of Ghana, sent to H.E. Mr. Hu Jintao, President of the People's Republic of China, a congratulatory message on the occasion of the 61st anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. The message reads as follows:
***
Your Excellency,
It gives me great pleasure to convey on behalf of the Government and People of Ghana, and in my own name, to Your Excellency, the Government and People of the People's Republic of China, heartfelt felicitations on the happy occasion of the 61st anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
This year's celebration comes at a time when our two countries are celebrating the 50th anniversary of our diplomatic relations and when I have just concluded a very successful state visit to China, resulting in the signing of various agreements for the mutual benefit our two countries.
I further look forward to actively engaging with you in the coming months in order to transform the aspirations of our people into concrete realities.
I am confident that the bonds of friendship and cooperation that happily exist between Ghana and China will be further strengthened in the coming years for the mutual benefit of our two peoples.
While thanking Your Excellency for the courtesies and hospitality extended to me and my delegation in China, accept, Your Excellency, my best wishes for your personal well-being and for the prosperity and happiness of the People of China.
Prof. John Evans Atta Mills
President of the Republic of Ghana
