On June 30th, 2009, the second graduation ceremony of French students took place in the library of SYIAE. Numerous special guests were present to witness the proceedings, including Mr. Gibelin from the French Consulate in Shenyang, Mr. Wangwei, president of SYIAE, Mr. Sun Xiaoping, Vice-president of SYIAE, and many professors.
The ceremony was held in the library's International Hall and was presided over by Mr. Richard Chen, Director of the International Cooperation Department. Mr. Wang Wei delivered the opening speech to an attentive audience. He gave credit to the French student body's hard work and academic progress throughout the year. He also handed out graduation certificates to each individual French student, commencing with student leader Hennebelle Benoit.
In addition, the president awarded six students a scholarship award for the end of the academic year.
Benoit also addressed the audience: "I hope we will have the chance to meet each other again in France or in China." He expressed his sadness at leaving his teachers and friends in China. With tempestuous applause from the audience, the ceremony came to a successful end, while lengthy photo-taking captured the unforgettable event.
