Yet another fun activity has been launched for international students at SYIAE: the first-ever International Student Chinese Speaking Competition, which was held on April 1st in the Teaching Building. The event kicked off at 6:20 p.m. and was attended by unexpected visiting dignitaries such as Mr. Samantha Kanshalya, CEO of Sino-Lanka Educations (Pvt) Ltd.

Altogether there were 10 contestants who participated in the competition. Adeyeye Yewande Elizabeth had the honour of being first on the stage for her speech. After that, more and more excellent speeches were presented to the audience.

Finally, the judges awarded first prize to Ankra-Badu James Ofei from Ghana. Every competitor went away with a participation recognition certificate.

After the competition, the scholarship award ceremony for the school year 2008-2009 was held. After one year's hard work in SYIAE, 11 students from 4 countries were granted scholarships. A photo session brought the evening's activities to a satisfactory close.
