The International Cooperation Department of SYIAE organized a one-day excursion for the international students on December 13th, 2008. The highly educational outing featured visits to both the local airport and to the city's aircraft manufacturing base.
First stop was the aircraft maintenance department of Shenyang Taoxian Airport, the city's main commercial airport. The students were offered the chance to have a close-up look at the aircraft and to ask questions about different aspects of aircraft maintenance.
After the tour around the airport, the group moved on to the next destination, which was Shenyang Aircraft Industry Group. The Group is situated in the northern part of Shenyang and houses the Shenyang Aircraft Expo. This exciting facility displays the progressive development of the Chinese aircraft industry, and features numerous plane models dating from the very first passenger-planes and jet fighters to newer aircrafts with the latest automated aircraft technology. The excursion was thoroughly enjoyed by all the students, who missed no opportunities to take plenty of memorable photos.
