The Welcome Ceremony for International Students of 2008

The Welcome Ceremony for International Students of 2008 was solemnly held in Blue Sky Theater at 6:30 p.m. on October 24th. All the international students, foreign teachers and more than 800 Chinese students were present.

The ceremony included performances from both international and Chinese students, the national dance-"In Praise of Our Country" brought by Chinese students made a wonderful start to the ceremony. Students from France, Nigeria, Sri lanka, Ghana, Philippines and Maldives provided Chinese students with various excellent performances which won tempest of applause from their audience.

Lorna Mae from Philippines and Selina from Ghana sang Chinese songs Hou Lai and Mo Lihua, which surprised the audience with standard Chinese and wonderful voice. The song, One Love, from Elmer, Philippines, rocked the whole theater. French students’ dance, Rabbi Jacob was funny and cute. Students from Nigeria, Ghana and Maldives showed the audience with pop song and dance and the song by students from Sri lanka must have brought them with a lot of fans.

At last, all the students came onto the stage under the song of We Are the World which put the ceremony with a wonderful end.
