On March 7, the inauguration ceremony for international students majoring in aircraft manufacturing is held at Building B 511. President of SYIAE, Mr. Wang Wei, Vice-dean of Aerospace Engineering School, Mr. Cui Xu, CEO of Global Security Consultants Limited, Nigeria, Mr. Abdullahi Habib, Director of Sino-Lanka Educations (pvt) Ltd, Sri Lanka, Mr. Samantha Kaushalya, Director of International Cooperation Department, Mr. Richard and all the international students of grade 2008 attend the ceremony.
At the beginning, Mr. Cui Xu delivers a welcoming speech. He makes a brief introduction to the School of Aerospace Engineering. He says:"The major of aircraft manufacturing has developed into one of the three major bachelor degree in SYIAE, with the joint efforts of the Commission of Science Technology and Industry for National Defense and with the development for more than 55 years." He hopes all the students can make great effort in the academic study and can enjoy their life in the School of Aerospace Engineering with confidence and encouragement.
Later, David from Nigeria, as the international student representative, makes a speech to express his impression of SYIAE and his hope for the future. He says that SYIAE has made a great effort in developing the teaching facilities, qualities and in recruiting international students from Africa and other Asian countries. "There exists an international atmosphere in SYIAE which makes us feel confident to live and study here. We will try our best to study in SYIAE."
The teacher representative Miss Wang Bo delivers a short speech to express her wish for the students. She hopes all the students can cherish their time in SYIAE and exert themselves in absorbing the knowledge.
Then, Mr. Samantha delivers a speech both in English and Chinese. He says he was graduated from Beijing University and he ran a Sino-Lanka Educations company in Sri Lanka. "I have been recruiting students from Sri Lanka to China for many years. They are in various majors such as medicine, computer science, international business and etc. But there is no major in the field of Aerospace which is taught in English and SYIAE has been the first university in China to achieve it. Both the students and their parents would say 'thank you' to SYIAE and I hope the students can try their best from now on and make their own contribution to China and Sri Lanka."

Later, CEO of Global Security Consultants Limited, Nigeria, Mr. Abdullahi Habib delivers a speech. "China and African countries have a long history of friendship. Today, the African students come to China to study. I hope they can make a great effort to study here and make a contribution to enhance the friendship between China and Africa." He says. He also expresses his thanks to SYIAE which makes a great assistance to all the students.

Finally, President Wang Wei delivers a welcoming speech in which he expresses his warm welcome and wishes for all the students. "SYIAE has made an increasing development during these years. There are more and more international students coming from different countries. We will try our best to improve the teaching quality and teaching facilities. I'm sure you will have a wonderful time at SYIAE and a great encouragement to discover the Chinese culture."
