BEIJING, Sept. 15 -- A leading Chinese think tank has called for more efforts in promoting education exchanges and cooperation between China and Africa.
The China-Africa education minister forum should be held regularly and institutionalized, said a report from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) issued earlier this week.
It's necessary to strengthen the leading role of governments and make the initiatives of various schools and educational institutions come into full play to attract enterprises and social organizations, said the report.
Besides educational assistance to Africa, it also proposed market-oriented models and investments in African education markets to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.
Acknowledging the achievements in China-Africa education cooperation among international students, intercollegiate exchanges and vocational education, the report pointed out the imbalance of a "very small" number of Chinese students studying in Africa.
It called on both sides to create more favorable conditions and opportunities for people from both sides to exchange visits and study in each other's countries in order to cultivate more experts on China and Africa.

In addition, it also suggested the building of more Chinese cultural centers in Africa and more African cultural centers in China.
