BPL season III concludes as Chittagong Challengers lift the champions trophy

From 15 April to 7 May, a thrilling 15 match cricket tournament, season III of Bangladesh Premier League was organized by SAU Bangladesh Students Association with assistance of International Student Union. Six teams fought for the title during this tournament which involved around 100 students from different countries such as Bangladesh, Pakistan, Zimbabwe, Srilanka, India and China

On 7th May, a bright sunny Sunday morning, the most awaited final match between Dhaka Dominos and Chittagong Challengers took place, earlier Dhaka dominos cruised their way into the final after defeating Rangpur Royals in the semi-final whereas Chittagong Challengers continuing their winning streak also qualified for the final after defeating Khulna Thunderbolts in a blasting manner.

After winning the crucial toss Dhaka Dominos elected to bat first, Dhaka Domino's Captain Romim played a spectacular captains knock of 64 runs to help his team set a respectable score of 134 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs. Chittagong challengers started their chase with a hiccup involving an early fall of wicket which mounted unnecessary pressure on them but their Captain Biswas Saikat Kumar played a persistent knock of 75 runs with helping hands from Anesu who scored a fiery knock of 28 runs which proved to be the turning point in the final, as Chittagong Challengers comfortably chased down the set target with 12 balls to spare and were declared the undefeatable champions of the BPL season III.

After an entertaining final the awarding Ceremony was held, Chief guests of the day SAU IEC Party Secretary Henry Shi and Matt shed their thoughts on the tournament, they encouraged and complemented the students for organizing and taking part in such extra-curricular activities.
