SAU students win award in 2nd International Math Olympiad

On April 1, 2022, closing ceremony of 2nd International Math Olympiad (IMO) organized by Amur State University, Russia was held online. Over 200 participants from both Russia and China joined this Olympiad. This competition covered syllabus from calculus, probability theory and linear algebra, geometry and other IMO questions. And it was held online and lasted for about four hours. Zhang Siyuan from SAU (Chinese) won the first award and Ngilangwa Neema Lutango from SAU (Tanzanian) won the honorable mention of this contest.


All students are encouraged to participate in such contest because through training and participation, they can develop good mathematical thinking ability and lay a good mathematical foundation for professional learning.


IEC plans to hold regular activities such as seminars, and lectures or tutorial for the students who are interested in mathematics. The activities can not only enrich the knowledge and daily life, but also provide a window of the education for students especially which may prove to be a distinctive form of teaching besides cultural courses.
