IEEE TrustCom 2021 successfully held

From the 20th-22nd of October 2021, international students of SAU were present at the 20th IEEE International Conference on Trust, Security and Privacy in Computing and Communications (IEEE TrustCom 2021). Organized by Shenyang Aerospace University, the conference was attended by professors, experts, engineers, and scholars in computer science from countries such as China, Australia, Singapore, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Norway and Qatar.  

The joint conference lasted for three days where exceptional keynote reports were delivered both online and offline by an abundance of renowned scholars such as Professor Li Keqiu of Tianjin University, prize-winner of the National Natural Science Foundation of China for Distinguished Young Scholars, and Professor Zhou Xiaofang of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

Professor Sun Xiaoping, President of Shenyang Aerospace University, inaugurated the conference with a speech. He highlighted that with information technology being the core of a new round of scientific and technological revolution, the development and advancement of the information technology industry have become a necessity and the theme of our time, subsequently aligning with the mission of universities such as SAU.

Speaking on behalf of the hosting organization, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the president of the conference, Mr Laurence T. Yang explained that the organization provides an exchange platform for scholars and practitioners from all over the world to discuss topics such as communication security improvement, analysis and application of big data, intelligent and ubiquitous computing, parallel and distributed computing, and construction of a smart city which are relevant to the advancement of Information Technology as an industry.

For the SAU student participants, the conference was able to make them more open-minded and reflective. The experience was unimaginably informative, as students were introduced to the breadth of applications of their computer science knowledge. Engagement in lively discussions and keynote presentations ranging from subtopics such as cybersecurity, cloud computing, data ethics encouraged the students to measure and exchange their knowledge and opinions with seasoned professionals of various fields. The students were left highly motivated to acquire more knowledge and practice application for individual and social betterment.
