On December 18, 2018, Chinese cultural class invited Mr. Cheng li to introduce and appreciate modern poetry with international students. The activity was held by IEC to enhance their understanding about Chinese culture.

Mr. Cheng took “Saying Good-bye to Cambridge Again” as an example. After introducing the author and his creation background, the students gave full play to their imagination and tried to figure out the author’s feeling. International students not only experienced the beautiful scenery of Cambridge, but also felt the author’s affection to Cambridge by Mr. Cheng’s recitation. At last, the students read the poem by themselves and pushed the activity atmosphere to a climax.

This activity made international students appreciate the elegance of Chinese poetry. It was also a precious party for international students from different countries to use the same language to read poem and make friends. By appreciating the beauty of Chinese language they also felt the profound and unique charm of Chinese traditional culture in Chinese poetry.
