On the afternoon of September 18, opening ceremony and orientation meeting were held for postgraduates in Blue Sky Theater. President Sun Xiaoping, Vice Secretary of the Party Committee Yao Shaoliang, Vice President and Dean of Graduate School attended the ceremony together with members of the Academic Degree Committee, leaders of various colleges, representatives of tutors, teaching secretaries of graduate students and all fresh postgraduates.

Sun Xiaoping delivered a speech at the ceremony. On behalf of SAU, he extended warm welcome and congratulations to all the postgraduates and sincere thanks to all the teachers and parents. At the same time, four requirements were put forward: first,  combine ideals with hard work for life; second, combine knowledge with practice for research; third, combine learning with thinking for innovation; fourth, combine truth with respect for honesty. He also shared good news with new students" In May, SAU successfully owns doctoral degree granting qualification. SAU always aims to provide students with high-quality curriculum resources, high-quality teaching resources, high-level academic research base, high-level international cooperation projects, high-level practice and innovation platform". He encouraged the students to study hard and strive to become the first group of doctoral students trained by SAU.
